Isobel Everett

Biography

Isobel Everett was appointed to the Agency Board in February 2021, and following that was appointed GIAA Board Chair on 1st October 2021. Following a varied career in engineering and project management, Isobel has worked in the political sphere of public services since 1996. Having held senior executive positions, she now combines her non-executive portfolio with being an executive coach and mentor within public services and the third sector.

Her experience includes:

  • Chair, Wales Audit Office Board
  • Lead Non-Executive, Office of the Secretary of State for Wales
  • Non-Executive Director of the Health and Safety Executive
  • Education Commissioner for the Minister for Education, Wales
  • Chief Executive, Wrexham County Borough Council
  • Senior executive roles at Oxford City Council and Bristol City Council

Non-Executive Director and Board Chair

Government non-executive board chairs lead the support that the Board provides as an advisory body to the Accounting Officer. They provide independent advice and bring an external perspective to the business of government departments. They do not have decision-making powers.
