Biography

Ify joined the team in the British Embassy Tallinn in October 2021. She is a career diplomat, having joined the Diplomatic Service in 1995.

During her career, Ify has served in a number of overseas posts, most recently as Deputy Head of Mission in Dakar, Senegal. She has also worked on a range of portfolios in London. Before taking up her posting in Tallinn, Ify spent two years on a secondment with Johnson and Johnson.

Ify has wide corporate experience, including recruitment to the Diplomatic Service, promotions assessing and crisis management. She is a qualified Agile Project Management Practitioner and holds several certifications on Climate Change and Circular Economy.

Ify speaks Yoruba, Igbo and French, and is learning Estonian.

Deputy Head of Mission, Estonia

The Deputy Head of Mission is a senior diplomat and typically a key advisor to the Ambassador or High Commissioner. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas Embassy or High Commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador as Chargé d’Affaires. A senior ranking Deputy may also take the title Minister. Smaller missions may not have a Deputy Head.
