Ian Workman

Biography

Ian joined Homes England in 2022, having worked for over 30 years in the banking industry.

He spent much of his career at Barclays in both retail and commercial banking and was most recently the managing director for SME and business banking relationships for the UK. After leaving Barclays, Ian worked with Recognise Bank, a challenger bank, and Yorkshire Building Society.

At Homes England he leads the Social Housing, Safety and Ownership Directorate, comprising Help to Buy, Building Remediation and Affordable Housing Grants.

Ian completed his master’s degree in Equity and Diversity in Society in 2024 and is also a non-executive director at Newbury Building Society.
