Guy Harrison

Biography

Guy took up his role as Chargé d’Affaires to the Republic of Guinea on 1 August 2022.

Before arriving in Conakry, Guy spent four years as Economic Counsellor at the British Deputy High Commission Lagos, responsible for promoting government-to-government and business-to-business partnerships between Nigeria and the UK. Previous overseas postings include the Republic of Korea (1987-92, 1998-2002), Vietnam (1993-95), Belgium and Luxembourg (2002-6) and as Deputy of Head of Mission to Nepal (2010-15). Guy has worked on a G7 summit and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), as well as Deputy Head of the FCO’s Global Economy Group and other roles at the FCO.

Guy joined the FCO in 1986. He is married with two grown-up children. He enjoys tennis, trekking, music and cinema. Guy speaks Korean, French and Dutch.
