Gurpreet Dehal
Biography
Gurpreet Dehal is currently Chair and Pro Chancellor at the University of Derby (since Aug 2023) and a member of Governing Council at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (since Jan 2024).
Having pursued a portfolio career since 2014, he has held various roles at the Ministry of Defence (2015-2024) including Board member and ARAC chair for The Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and has also been a Board Member with the Office for Students (The Higher Education Regulator in England)
His prior executive career was in Financial Services, where he focused initially on financial risk management before moving to run Global Operations for trading and lending businesses.

Non-Executive Directors provide independent scrutiny for departments, supporting them in maintaining good governance and providing advice on policy matters and cross-government initiatives.
