Greg Jackson CBE

Biography

Greg Jackson is a British entrepreneur and CEO of Octopus Energy which he founded in 2015, one of the largest energy firms in the UK. Before Octopus Energy, Greg was an entrepreneur with experience in various sectors including mirror manufacturing, coffee shops and software. Before turning aged 30 years, he had owned or managed a number of SMEs. He is an investor and advisor in several tech startups. In 2024 he was awarded a CBE for services to the energy industry.

Members of the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council (ISAC) contribute to the development and long-term delivery of HM Government’s industrial strategy. They work with the ISAC chair and other ISAC members to produce independent, evidence-based recommendations that directly inform government policy.

Non-Executive Board Member

The Cabinet Office Board provides strategic leadership for the department, comprising Cabinet Office ministers, senior executives, and non-executives from outside government. Its purpose is to advise on strategy, monitor performance, and assess significant risks.

The Non-Executive Board Members are responsible for providing support and challenge to the department’s ministers and senior officials on the delivery of key policies and programmes.
