Gareth Roberts
Biography
Gareth Roberts has been Minister Counsellor at the British Embassy Warsaw since August 2026.
Before this, he was Deputy Director, Economic Security. He was responsible for improving the government’s ability to prepare for and respond to geoeconomic risks, and for increasing international co-operation.
His career has mainly been in international security and European issues. He has worked on postings to NATO, Pakistan and Bulgaria.
Before joining the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in 2003, he worked for Accenture, an IT consultancy.
Minister Counsellor, Poland
The Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs leads the embassy’s work to support a strong political relationship between the UK and Poland. The role concentrates on co-operation on foreign and security policy.
