Biography
Ella Penton-Voak was appointed Deputy High Commissioner at the British High Commission Banjul in June 2026.
Ella has worked for the UK Government since 2021 and joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in 2022. She has experience across policy, strategy, and operational roles, including in trade, development, human rights, and strategic engagement.

The Deputy High Commissioner fulfils a similar role to a Consul General, representing the UK government and typically responsible for consular, visa and trade activities in their city or region. In some countries, the Deputy High Commissioner leads a subordinate office to the High Commission in another major city.
