David Jones

Biography
David Jones was appointed Non-executive Chair of DVLA in February 2024.
Education
David was born in Wrexham and attended school there before studying Philosophy at Cardiff University.
Both his mother and father were born in Swansea.
Career
David started his career as Chief Technology Officer for Cardiff-based Aspro Travel. He then set up a software company, Travelink, which he sold in 2005. He spent the next few years working in consulting and as an angel investor, whilst also chairing several technology companies.
In 2009, David joined the Cardiff and Vale NHS Board as a Non-executive Director. He went on to hold non-executive director roles at Qualifications Wales, Aneurin Bevan NHS Board and the Welsh Revenue Authority.
David served on the board of Ofcom from 2019 to 2023 as the first non-executive member for Wales.
In 2022, David was appointed to the board of Ofwat.
Other roles
David is currently a Non-executive Director at Ofwat and co-founder and Chair at CxB, a non-profit network supporting non-executive directors to improve board oversight of cyber security in their organisations.
