David Belgrove OBE

Biography

David Belgrove was appointed Her Majesty’s British High Commissioner to The Gambia in August 2020. Prior to this appointment he was the British Ambassador to Liberia 2015 to 2020.

Since joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1982, he has served in a variety of roles in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India, Canada, Afghanistan and Africa and London. He has experience in both operational and leadership roles in policy, crises, counter narcotics, conflict and post conflict, corporate, consular and immigration work. He has also been the Deputy Head of Mission in the Sudan from 2012 until 2015. David enjoys photography, birdwatching, swimming and occasionally golf.
