Cyrus Mehta

Biography

Cyrus was appointed Panel Chair of the CMA on 19 September 2026 and has been a Panel Inquiry Chair of the CMA since 1 October 2025. He has been a Non-executive Director of the Board since February 2024. He is also a member of the CMA’s specialist news and media, and payment systems panels.

Cyrus is a former Partner and Head of the EU and Competition team at international law firm CMS in London. He has over 35 years’ experience in the field of UK and EU competition law, state aid, consumer law, trade law and regulation in both London and Brussels.

As board members, they are also responsible for:
