Chris Morson

Biography

Chris was re-appointed as a Non-executive Director and Audit and Risk Committee member of DVLA in February 2023 for an interim period to cover a vacancy on the Board.

Education

Chris has a BSc in Economics and Accounting from Loughborough University and attended the London Business School finance programme. Chris holds an MBA with distinction from Cranfield, where he was awarded the Courage prize for overall performance and the Venture Capital prize.

Chris has also completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors diploma

Career

Chris has spent much of his executive career in financial services. Most recently, he has specialised in digital transformation at scale, as Managing Director of the digital business of RBS/NatWest, and then at Virgin Money. Prior to this, he held senior roles as a Strategy Director, Managing Director of a European consumer finance business and as an Operations Director.

Earlier in his career, Chris worked as a management consultant with Price Waterhouse.

He was appointed a Non-executive Director and Audit and Risk Committee member at DVLA in November 2013 and reappointed in November 2016 to 2020. He was re-appointed as a Non-executive Director and Audit and Risk Committee member of DVLA in February 2023 for an interim period to cover a vacancy on the Board.

Chris is also a Non-executive Director and Audit Committee chair at the Pensions Regulator, and is also a Non-executive Director at Royal London Asset Management Ltd and RLAM Holdings Ltd.

He has previously served as a Non-executive Director at HM Land Registry from January 2018 and has been interim chair of the Audit Committee and a member of Remuneration Committee.

He has previously been a Non-executive Director at the Money Advice Service, as well as Audit & Risk Committee and Nominations Committee member.
