Charlie Steel

Biography

Charlie is Group Chief Financial Officer and Board member of International Workplace Group Plc, the world’s largest office provider with its Regus and Spaces brands across 120 countries, employing 10,000+ people and a member of the UK’s FTSE 250 index. He is also a Non-Executive Board Member of AICPA-CIMA, the largest accounting body globally. 

Prior to this, he was Chief Financial Officer of Babylon, a US-based digital-first, value-based healthcare provider, holding this position from November 2017 to October 2022. Charlie has also served in various roles, including as Global Head of Corporate Development at CMC Markets, a retail-focused financial services business (September 2014 to November 2017), Vice President at Deutsche Bank (October 2008 to August 2014), and has also worked at Lehman Brothers and IBM. 

Charlie holds a MA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.

  • give guidance and advice to DWP leaders and ministers
  • support and challenge management on the department’s strategic direction
  • provide support in monitoring and reviewing progress
