Charlie Steel

Biography

Charlie is Chief Financial Officer and Board member of IWG Plc (LSE: IWG), the world’s largest hybrid office provider including its Regus and Spaces brands in 3,345 locations across 120 countries, employing 10,000+ people, and a member of the UK FTSE 250 index. Prior to this, he was Chief Financial Officer of Babylon (NYSE: BBLN), a US-based digital-first, value-based healthcare provider, holding this position from November 2017 to October 2022.

Previously Charlie served in various roles, including as Global Head of Corporate Development at CMC Markets (LSE: CMCX), a retail-focused financial services business (September 2014 to November 2017), Vice President at Deutsche Bank (October 2008 to August 2014), and has also worked at Lehman Brothers and IBM. Charlie holds a degree in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.

  • give guidance and advice to DWP leaders and ministers
  • support and challenge management on the department’s strategic direction
  • provide support in monitoring and reviewing progress
