Andy Fry OBE

Biography

Andy the Chief Inspector of the Crown Premises Fire Safety Inspectorate, jointly leading a team of Inspectors responsible for ensuring appropriate fire safety standards in crown premises in England.

Andy has a wealth of leadership and governance experience to his role, having operated at Corporate Director and Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive level in the local government and fire and rescue sectors for over 15-years and is the former Chief Executive of the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny. He also worked in the Welsh civil service as principal advisor to Welsh Government ministers on fire and rescue policy and is the former Her Late Majesty’s Inspector of Fire Services in Wales.

Andy was made an OBE by Her Late Majesty the Queen in the 2018 New Year Honours, for services to the fire and rescue sector.
