Alex Pinfield OBE
Biography
Alex Pinfield OBE was the British Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan from April to October 2021. He has been in the Diplomatic Service for over 20 years, with a career focussed on China and Asia, and the Middle East.
His previous roles have included Head of China Department in London, Head of Syria Unit in London, and was seconded to the National Security Secretariat in the Cabinet Office. His previous overseas postings have been in China, Iran, and Australia.
In 2022 he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
