Alex Bowen

Biography

Alex is a highly experienced leader currently leading the digital and technology function at the UK Hydrographic Office. He is responsible for the delivery of digital services to the UKHO and its customers. Alex comes with a strong background in UK Policing having held previous roles such as the Chief Digital Data and Technology Officer at the Police Digital Service and as the Chief Technology Officer for Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police. Alex has a track record in advancing digital innovation and transformational change at an enterprise level.

In addition to his professional achievements, Alex dedicated 11 years as a Special Constable, volunteering his time to support and protect local communities. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director, contributing his expertise to guide the digital transformation of organisations.

Chief Digital and Technology Officer

The Chief Digital and Technology Officer has overall responsibility for the digital and data strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • leading the digital, data and cyber strategies
  • delivering the digital capabilities the organisation needs to meet its customers needs
  • responsible for the cyber and information security managing digital risk
  • leading on strategic innovation of digital services
  • responsible for AI governance and Assurance
