About us
United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) is the single government provider of National Security Vetting (NSV). We are the centre of excellence for security vetting and enable government to protect citizens and provide vital public services, by understanding and managing security risks.
In April 2020, UKSV will transition from its current host department, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), into the Cabinet Office and will sit at the heart of the Government Security Group to enable a closer integration of policy and operational delivery.
Our responsibilities
We are responsible for delivering National Security Vetting services across government at various levels, from Counter Terrorist Checks (CTC) up to enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV).
Our key priorities for 2020 to 2025:
- transition into Cabinet Office to sit at the heart of the Government Security Group within Cabinet Office
- continue to protect citizens and provide vital public services, by understanding and managing security risks
- transform business infrastructure and prioritise continuous improvement by putting the customer at the centre of everything we do to further professionalise our delivery
- support the development and evolution of policy to ensure the operation continues to adapt to meet evolving threats.
