Traffic Commissioner Twitter Policy

General Rules to start –

The Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain twitter channel @TrafficCommsGB is managed by the Traffic Commissioners Corporate Office on behalf of the commissioners.

We do not use automation tools such as RSS feeds to generate tweets.

We will remove or report posts which we feel are inappropriate and block or mute users who post content which we believe is:

  • abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic or inflammatory, including the use of swear words

  • graphic, sensitive or has offensive imagery

  • deceptive or misleading

  • personal information such as telephone numbers and addresses

  • advertising commercial activity or make requests for donations or money

  • in breach of any intellectual property rights, law or regulation

  • political in nature

  • spam (persistent posting of the same content)

Being liked, followed or retweeted by us -

Being ‘liked’ or followed by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.

We’ll share content with our followers which we consider relevant to our work and does not mean endorsement.

Availability –

We will update and monitor our Twitter account during office hours, Monday to Friday. Twitter may occasionally be unavailable, and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.

@replies and direct messages –

We welcome feedback, ideas and engagement from all our followers, and may choose to join the conversation if appropriate. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Twitter.

Twitter is not to used for the management of your operator licence. Do not send any correspondence to our Twitter account.

General terms and conditions –

We cannot engage on issues of party politics or answer questions which break our general rules.

We can change our policy and terms and conditions at any time.

We are not responsible for the advertising content on social media websites, and we do not choose which adverts appear on our pages.

We accept no responsibility for social media websites being unavailable.
