The Application Process

Each role, dependent on seniority, will follow a different recruitment process. The Civil Service uses the Success Profile Framework to attract and retain people of talent and experience from all walks of life, moving away from a purely competency based system of assessment.

The Civil Service has defined a set of behaviours that, when demonstrated, are associated with job success. Civil Service Behaviours are specific to the grade level of the job role.

Security

Successful candidates for roles within Strategic Command must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is dependent on the role and more information can be found by reading the vetting explanation and guidance.

People working with government assets must also complete basic personnel security standard checks.
