Who we are and what we do

The Regulator of Social Housing is a statutorily independent non-departmental public body sponsored by the government’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

We are tasked by Parliament to focus on regulating the social housing sector at an organisational level, to ensure that social housing providers (landlords) registered with us:

  • are well-managed and financially stable
  • provide their tenants with decent, safe and energy efficient accommodation, act in a transparent manner and residents can hold landlords to account

To apply, please complete the online application form on the RSH careers site with an anonymised CV which details your employment, education and training history and provide a supporting statement, which will be used in assessing your application.

Our staff and our offices

RSH has more than 220 staff based across our core offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol, and and our staff also work from home. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.

Our teams include finance and legal experts, economists and data analysts; communications, HR and policy professionals; project management and digital specialists and various corporate and administrative roles.
