Information about RAIB social media policy


RAIB Social Media policy

RAIB’s X (twitter channel) @raibgovuk, Linkedin (@Rail Accident Investigation Branch) and Facebook (@rail accident investigation branch) allow us to post about:

  • investigation announcements

  • reports released

  • new content published on our website

  • new content uploaded to other digital channels eg YouTube

  • witness appeal requests

  • other safety information

We do not use automation tools eg RSS feeds to generate our posts.

If you follow us on these channels we may follow you back. Being followed by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Availability

We will generally update and monitor our Social Media accounts during office hours, Monday to Friday. These channels may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to their downtime.

@replies and direct messages

Our Social Media accounts are not interactive or regularly monitored and unfortunately we are unable to respond to any individual message. You can read more about accident reporting and enquiries.

Youtube

From time to time, we will use our YouTube channel to provide video explanations of some of the investigations we have undertaken. These videos are intended to complement our formal investigation reports.
