Location and flexible working

We have offices in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast.

We’ve recently moved to a flexible hybrid approach, which combines both home and office-based working, in line with our commitment to smarter ways of working.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We’re an equal opportunities employer and value diversity across our organisation. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status.

In November 2021 we published our Companies House equality, diversity and inclusion strategy.

Our strategy will support work to tackle under-representation among our employees, build an inclusive culture, and keep Companies House accountable for implementing change. It shows our commitment to creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential and deliver excellent public services.

We’ve signed the Race at Work Charter and we’re a leader in the Disability Confident Scheme, strengthening our commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory practices.

We have a wide range of inclusive networks open to employees at all levels across the organisation. These include our:

Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

As a government organisation and a large employer, CSR is important to us. We support our local communities by fundraising, volunteering and taking part in other charitable activities.

Since 2013 Companies House has raised over £88,000 for good causes and has donated over £100,000 worth of items to local groups and charities - including furniture, equipment, and IT hardware.

We encourage our employees to volunteer and offer 3 days paid voluntary activity days per year.

Environmental commitments

As an organisation with a strong sense of CSR, we’re determined to minimise negative impacts on the environment. Our environmental impact is an essential consideration in everything we do.

We have a dedicated Environmental Working Group open to colleagues to discuss environmental issues and agree priorities for the organisation.
