The Medical Profession brings together doctors from across the Civil Service.
The Medical Profession is one of the Civil Service Professions. The General Medical Council (GMC) has advised that to practise safely, doctors must be competent in what they do. The public is entitled to expect that doctors, wherever they may be employed including in the Civil Service, are fit to practise, and follow the GMC’s principles of good practice described in Good Medical Practice.
