How to apply for jobs as an Operational Researcher in the Civil Service.
GORS offers several central recruitment schemes. When you join us, you’ll be assigned to a department that has the most suitable opportunity and that meets your location preferences. To broaden your project experience, you can expect to move between departments throughout the early stages of your career.
Our schemes are:
- Graduates and experienced professionals: Fast Stream Scheme and Mainstream Scheme
- University Students: Summer Student Scheme and Sandwich Student Scheme
In addition to this, government departments also recruit Operational Researchers for specific roles throughout the year on Civil Service Jobs. You can find these jobs by clicking ‘Advanced Search’, and then selecting ‘Operational Research’ from the ‘Type of Role’ drop down menu.
All roles are assessed using the Civil Service Success Profiles, which ask for evidence of your experience and skills. Technical skills are assessed using the GORS Technical Framework.
