What future for Somalia?

The event took place in Rome, at the Ambassador’s Residence, Villa Wolkonsky, on Monday 19 March 2013.

The conference focussed on:

• Political developments: security and justice. How can Italy and the UK help the Somali government?
• State building, federalism and constitutional issues
• Preventing sexual violence in conflict areas. What can be done in Somalia?

The conference ended with a debate that saw the participation of two former Italian foreign ministers: Massimo D’Alema and Franco Frattini.
