Welsh Secretary Cheryl Gillan said:

“I welcome today’s announcement [10 November] that a permit has been granted for the Pembrokeshire gas-fuelled power station by the Environment Agency. This is great news for the local economy as the plant represents around a billion pounds of much needed investment in Wales, and three million homes will benefit from the local power source.”

“Wales is playing its part in securing the United Kingdom’s energy infrastructure for the future and I am confident that the Environment Agency’s assessments will ensure the local environment is to be protected.”
