Secretary of State for Wales Cheryl Gillan has written to the Ambassador of Japan to offer her condolences, and on behalf of the people of Wales, following today’s earthquake and resulting tsunami.
Mrs Gillan said she was saddened by the devastating impact of the natural disaster on Japan and their people.
As Japan is a key employer in Wales, Mrs Gillan said the thoughts and prayers of both herself and the people of Wales would be with Japan following this tragic event.
Mrs Gillan said: “I am deeply saddened by news of the destruction caused by this natural disaster. Our thoughts are with the people of Japan at this difficult time.”
