Welsh Secretary extends congratulations to Queen’s Birthday Honours recipients

The Secretary of State for Wales David Jones has extended his congratulations to all Welsh recipients of the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2013.

81 Welsh recipients received awards with two receiving CBEs, 12 gaining OBEs, 43 gaining MBEs and 24 receiving BEMs (British Empire Medals). There are also MBEs for Welsh comedian Rob Brydon, and singer and broadcaster, Aled Jones.

Secretary of State for Wales, David Jones MP said:

It is important that we celebrate the selfless individuals who do so much to improve the lives of those around them. That is why I’m delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to everyone who has been recognised in today’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Each and every one of them has been selected for their dedication, commitment and tireless work in helping to improve the lives of others. All of us in Wales can take pride in the many and varied achievements of the successful nominees, whose achievements we rightly celebrate today. Congratulations to you all.
