Wear and tear repairs to the westbound carriageway surface between junctions 3 and 4 will be carried out in 5 nights of work between Monday 17 August and Friday 21 August.

Highways England project manager Peter Gee said:

All the work is being done overnight and we don’t anticipate any delays for motorway users.

As well as resurfacing sections of the carriageway we’ll be renewing road markings and road studs.

All the work will be done overnight – between 8pm and 5am each night – with 2 lanes of the 3 lane westbound carriageway closed at a time.

Work on the Monday is near the junction 3 entry slip road and that will need to close for the night with drivers able to use the eastbound slip road to travel down to junction 1 and join the westbound carriageway from there.
