Vacancy for a finance manager

We are hiring! We have a vacancy for a Finance Manager on a full-time permanent contract in our Southampton-based office.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Budget and finance - profiling of the budget to ensure that sufficient funds are allocated to individual areas of work. Is responsible for the production of a monthly forecast of expenditure.

  • Procurement - support the Inspectorate and Business Support Manager to facilitate the administration of any contract issued on the procurement of goods and services.

  • Purchase orders - responsible for this end-to-end process.

  • Invoice payment – responsible for liaising with the requestor to ensure all goods and services were delivered as agreed, and processing all invoices within prompt government payment targets.

  • Marine Accident Investigators’ International Forum – act as the treasurer, liaise with the Chief Inspector of Marine Accidents to ensure all countries’ invoices are paid and produce an annual audit report.

  • Receipts – payments of any nature made to the MAIB for work carried out are to be paid into the appropriate DfT bank account.

  • General administrative duties – responsible for the provision of general administrative support to the Head of Business Support.
