Meeting the challenges of urban living

Funding of up to £7 million is available for businesses to develop new products and services from integrated data generated by cities.

The aim of this competition is to stimulate innovations that help cities meet the challenges of achieving sustainable growth.

The ultimate goal is to make the lives of the people who live and work in cities happier, healthier and more harmonious.

If you are working in this area your business could win grant funding to prototype, develop and evaluate products and services. These will need to use data from an integrated city management system to solve problems around the management and operation of cities.

Proposals must involve collaborative partners and be led by a business partner. We expect total project costs to range from £350,000 to £700,000.

This collaborative R&D competition opens for applications on 15 December 2014. The deadline for registration is at noon on 4 February 2015.
