UK Ambassador Visits OAS Office in the Adjacency Zone
The British Embassy reaffirms its support for peacebuilding and regional cooperation during a visit to the OAS Office in the Adjacency Zone between Guatemala and Belize.
Juliana Correa, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Guatemala, visited the Office of the Organization of American States (OAS) in the Adjacency Zone on 12 August.
The OAS Office plays a key role in promoting dialogue, trust, and peaceful cooperation between the communities of Guatemala and Belize along the Adjacency Line, while the territorial dispute remains under consideration by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
During the visit, Ambassador Correa learned about the Office’s work in verifying incidents, supporting community development, and fostering a culture of peace. The UK is a long-standing member of the Group of Friends of Belize and Guatemala.
The visit highlighted the importance of continued international cooperation to ensure the sustainability of the Office’s operations and its impact on local communities.
