On the evening of 12 February 2019, Turkmen Chevening Alumni was topped up with two new returnees. Her Majesty’s Ambassador Miss Thorda Abbott-Watt’s residence was crowded once again and this time the event offered the opportunity to congratulate Mahrijemal Eyupova and Eldar Yusupov for their successful completion of post-graduate studies in the UK. Colleagues from the British Embassy and members of the Chevening alumni group from previous years were also invited to the reception to welcome the newest returnees.

Speaking about the post-study Chevening opportunities for programme participants, the British Ambassador encouraged the alumni to take advantage of Chevening network opportunities in the region, as well as around the world, and benefit from Alumni project funds that are available for them.

Coincidentally, the Scholarships Unit in London announced the opening of bids for Chevening Alumni project funds on 12 February, with a deadline of 25 March. The Embassy looks forward to receiving creative project proposals from alumni.
