Travel Advice for Lebanon

We have factually updated our travel advice for Lebanon.
On 27 December there was a car explosion in the downtown area of Beirut. At least 9 people were killed including the former Lebanese Finance Minister and over 70 injured. There is likely to be disruption in the local area. You should monitor local media and this travel advice for further updates.
There is a high threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by foreigners like hotels and restaurants. Terrorists have used vehicle bombs, hand grenades and small, improvised bombs. Further attacks are likely.
