The British Embassy’s Trade and Investment Office (UKTI) held a breakfast on February 25 with suppliers from across the world that provide goods to the city of Lima, to highlight the potential for collaboration with the Southern Copper Corporation, which leads numerous mining projects in Peru such as in Tia Maria (Arequipa), Cuajone (Moquegua) and Toquepala (Tacna).

Engineer Jaime Ramirez de Villar, Southern Copper’s Supply Director, part of the Mexico Group, gave a presentation on business opportunities in mining projects, both new ones and those operating for many years, giving a clear picture of the historic collaboration between this mining corporation and several British companies, many of which are already providing technology and supplies for various mining operations in Peru.
