Resurfacing work will start this weekend, in both directions. The work will be completed using overnight closures and daytime lane 1 closures over 5 weeks.

Project manager Phil Deller said:

The surface is getting tired and beginning to break up causing potholes and loose chippings. We need to get on site and sort it out. Resurfacing will make it much smoother to drive on, and it will be quieter for local residents too.

We’re keeping disruption to a minimum by only closing the road at night. We can manage the work we have to do during the day with occasional lane closures.

Daytime Lane 1 Closures

Saturday 8 and 22 October, Saturday 29 October, 5 and 12 November.

Overnight Full Closures

8pm to 8am, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13, Friday 14, Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 October. Thursday 27, Friday 28, Saturday 29, and Monday 31 October. And Friday 4 November.

Signed local diversions will be in place.
