Seminar: commissioning street triage services (29 Sep 2014)

An overview of this Academy for Justice Commissioning evening seminar, including the speakers' presentations.

This seminar featured Kate Fleming from the Home Office Safeguarding and Vulnerable People Unit’s Priority Projects team and Mark Smith, Head of Suicide Prevention and Mental Health at the British Transport Police.

Kate gave an overview of mental health triage and why Street Triage services have been commissioned. She provided data on the progress of the nationally funded pilots and discussed how street triage services fit with liaison and diversion services.

Mark leads the British Transport Police street triage teams and gave a ground up perspective on how this service is working and the challenges and successes to date.
