As part of the Secretary of State’s continued outward engagement strategy, the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP visited the Co Antrim coast. Her first visit of the day was to Sandleford Special Needs School in Coleraine where she heard about the many initiatives that the school was involved in. She was given an overview of the school and their education programmes and met with staff and pupils undertaking the various education modules and therapies.

She then visited Castleroe Organic beef farm where she was given a tour of the farm facility by the owner, Rex Humphrey. The Secretary of State was keen to show the UK government’s support and commitment to the agri-food sector within Northern Ireland.

Her final event of the day was to give the keynote address to the Causeway Chamber of Commerce President’s Business Luncheon in Portrush.
