Secretary of State sees Magic Bus in action

Jeremy Hunt sees sports charity Magic Bus in action in India

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Magic Bus uses sport to help some of India’s poorest children to develop life skills. The Premier League is the charity’s primary funding partner for the next three years - committing over £584,000.

Visiting the Magic Bus site in Delhi, Jeremy Hunt said: “Sport is a fantastic way of reaching out to young people, inspiring them to learn new skills and a chance to escape lives of hardship and poverty.”

He and Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore met the charity’s founder Matthew Spacie, who explained how Magic Bus trains local young people to run special sport sessions.

Jeremy Hunt is part of a delegation of cabinet ministers who have joined the Prime Minister on a visit to promote increased trade and investment with the UK.
