Seven leading UK companies offering cutting-edge media technologies took part in NATEXPO-2013, the largest trade fair for the broadcasting industry in Russia.

Opportunities in Russian broadcasting sector

The mission participants looked to take advantage of active developments in the Russian broadcasting market stimulated by the forthcoming Sochi Olympics and World Cup. This is increasing the demand for the most innovative technologies such as:

  • technologies for sports broadcasting

  • 3D

NATEXPO 2013 exhibition

The UK Pavilion at NAT EXPO was organised by TradeFair, sponsored by Intellect and supported by UKTI-Russia. Attendance at the show helped the participants to meet future partners and potential buyers.

It also gave the companies an opportunity to showcase their innovative products and solutions including:

  • cable infrastructure

  • news production

  • archive management

  • sound recording

Chris Smeeton, Sales Director, Argosy said

The Russian broadcasting market is developing rapidly and a presence at NATEXPO gives us an opportunity to meet key buyers and distributors. It’s a perfect place to establish the right contacts in the industry.

The GREAT Britain pavilion branded “Technology is GREAT” was in a central location at the exhibition and hosted six of the seven UK companies. This eye-catching pavilion helped to increase the profile of the UK companies at the exhibition, attracting a lot of visitors and media contacts.

Feedback from participants

“NATEXPO is an ideal ground for us to show-case our latest innovations to the market” – says Martin Mulligan, Sales Director, Quantel.

“We had a very successful show and have already received orders on the back” – Chris Exelby, Managing Director, TSL.

2012 visit to NATEXPO

Following a successful visit to NATEXPO last year a number of UK companies have since established contacts with Russian counterparts with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) support. They are now entering into partnership agreements with the Russian integrators or expanding their presence at the Russian market.
