Kainos provides digital technology solutions that allow organisations and people to work smarter, faster, better. They work in the government, finance and health sectors.

HRH heard a brief company overview and met a number of young members of staff who talked about their experience in working for Kainos, as well as viewing a demonstration by the DEFRA Team of the DEFRA Common Agricultural Policy digital system which supports subsidy payments to farmers and allows them to map their land on line.

Before departing, HRH met members of the Evolve Team and viewed a demonstration of the software product created with clinicians in Ipswich National Health Service Trust, designed to allow clinical staff to convert paper patient files to electronic records and accessed via an iPad.

The Royal visitor was accompanied throughout by the Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast, Dame Mary Peters DBE.
