Resurfacing work to take place on A19 in Wingate

Drivers will benefit from an improved road surface on the A19 northbound carriageway when overnight resurfacing work takes place in Wingate, County Durham.

Highways England contractors will resurface 3 miles of the carriageway between the A179 at Sheraton to the A181 at Wellfield.

Work will start on Sunday 4 October and will take place between 8pm and 6am until Saturday 24 October.

Highways England project manager Kyle Maylard said:

Work to resurface the carriageway will be undertaken at night to keep disruption for motorists to a minimum. Once complete, it will provide drivers with a smoother and safer journey.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A179 and A1086.
