Reminder: Weekend overnight A1 closure in North Yorkshire

The A1 will be fully closed north and southbound between Scotch Corner and junction 51 (Leeming) overnight on 9 August, from 8pm on Saturday evening until 6am on Sunday morning.

In addition, the northbound carriageway between junction 50 (Baldersby) and Scotch Corner will be closed overnight on 10 August from 8pm on Sunday evening until 6am on Monday morning.

During these overnight closures the lengths of narrow lanes will be extended within the temporary 50mph limits.

The work is part of a £380m scheme to upgrade 12 miles of the A1 between Leeming and Barton to motorway standard. Following the decision on the route of the proposed local access road, work on the remaining section, between Scotch Corner and Barton, will start in due course For more information on the scheme, visit the Highways Agency’s website.
