Hong Kong

When asked about the Foreign Affairs Select Committee not being granted visas to travel to Hong Kong, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson said the Prime Minister believed the decision was a mistaken one. He said it only served to amplify concerns about the situation in Hong Kong, rather than diminish them. He added that there was a continued dialogue with the Chinese authorities and Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond had raised the issue with his Chinese counterpart last week.
