PM's message for Chinese New Year

Prime Minister David Cameron has sent his best wishes to the people in China, the United Kingdom and around the world who are celebrating Chinese New Year.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The PM said Chinese New Year was a “time for friends and family, for new beginnings and old wisdom, and for hope and optimism”.

Mr Cameron paid tribute to the enormous contribution the Chinese community makes to the UK and praised their values of “hard work, enterprise and community”.

These are values we need to create a strong economy and a strong society.

The PM said the United Kingdom and China were “partners in growth” with more investment and economic development between the two countries creating new deals and new jobs.
