PM call to President Sarkozy

Prime Minister David Cameron has spoken with President Sarkozy on the Euro area and US debt downgrade.

The Prime Minister’s spokesman said:

The Prime Minister this evening spoke by telephone to President Sarkozy of France.  They discussed the Euro area and the US debt downgrade. Both agreed the importance of working together, monitoring the situation closely and keeping in contact over the coming days.

Yesterday the PM also spoke with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, about the instability of the European and American stock markets.
