Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber: summary for Monday 30 November to Sunday 6 December 2015
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 27 November 2015 and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop
The south side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for 2 nights from Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M1 junction 32 Thurcroft to junction 35a Stocksbridge
The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The north side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for 4 nights from Wednesday 2 December. The northbound exit slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight for 2 nights on Monday 30 November and Friday 4 December. The northbound exit slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 2 December. The south side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for 2 nights on Monday 30 November and then again on Saturday 5 December. The southbound exit slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight for 2 nights on Tuesday 1 December and then again on Saturday 5 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)
The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in winter 2015. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 40 and 41 overnight on Tuesday 1 December and then again on Saturday 5 December. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 39 and 40 overnight on Wednesday 2 December. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 39 and 40 overnight on Friday 4 December. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 41 and 42 overnight for 2 nights on Thursday 3 December. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 40 and 41 overnight on Wednesday 2 December. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 41 and 42 overnight for 2 nights from Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M1 junction 38 to junction 39 Denby Dale
The northbound exit slip road will be closed at junction 39 with a single lane on the northbound side of the motorway for carriageway repairs for 2 nights from Monday 30 November and then again for a further night on Saturday 5 December. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 39 for carriageway repairs for two nights from Wednesday 2 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M1 junction 36 to 37 Barnsley
The southbound entry slip road at junction 37 will be closed overnight for 6 nights for resurfacing work from Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M18 junction 3 Doncaster
The east bridge at junction 3 will be closed overnight from Monday 30 November until Christmas, preventing access to the southbound M18 from the A6182. A diversion will take drivers on the northbound carriageway up to junction 4 and then back on the southbound carriageway. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M62 junction 22 Saddleworth to junction 23 Huddersfield
The eastbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for resurfacing works for 6 nights from Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M62 junction 22 Saddleworth to junction 23 Huddersfield
The westbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane overnight on Monday 30 November for bridge works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M62 junctions 27 to 28 Tingley
The eastbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for technology work overnight on Wednesday 2 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M62 junctions 26 to 27 Chainbar
The eastbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for technology work overnight on Thursday 3 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M1/M62 Lofthouse Interchange
The southbound exit slip road at junction 42 of the M1 and the eastbound entry slip road at junction 29 of the M62 will be closed for resurfacing work for 5 nights from Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 29 Lofthouse Interchange
The westbound side of the motorway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 29 for carriageway repairs for 2 nights from Friday 4 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 27 Morley
The westbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for technology work overnight on Friday 4 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
M62 junction 31 Normanton
The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight from technology works on Monday 30 November. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)
There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until a project to add an extra lane to the roundabout at the junction is completed in autumn 2016. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 30 November for 5 nights.
M621/M62 junction 27
The anticlockwise exit slip road at junction 27 will be closed between 5am and 10am for routine maintenance work on Saturday 5 December. Drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M621 junction 3 Holbeck
The anticlockwise exit slip road at junction 3 will be closed between 5am and 10am for routine maintenance work on Sunday 6 December. Drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M621 junction 5 Tunstall
The clockwise entry slip road at junction 5 will be closed overnight on Monday 30 November for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M621 junction 1 Beeston
The anticlockwise and clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight on Wednesday 2 December at junction 1 for bridge works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
A61 Tankersley
The A61 Tankerlsey North Bridge will be reduced to a single lane for bridge work. Drivers will be led through the roadworks at 10mph by a contractor’s vehicle in convoys. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.
A61 Tankersley
The A61 will be closed in both directions between Westwood roundabout and McDonald’s for roundabout improvement work from Monday 30 November for 4 nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
A61 Westwood to Tankersley
Overnight resurfacing work will take place on the A61 between Westwood and Tankersley for 3 nights from Monday 30 November. Drivers will be led through the roadworks by a contractor’s vehicle in convoys between 8pm and 6am. The eastbound and westbound side of the A road will be closed between Westwood and Tankersley for resurfacing works from Friday 4 December for 2 nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
A64 Bondhill to Copmanthorpe
The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight for 4 nights from Monday 30 November for resurfacing work. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
A64 Towton to Bramham
The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for 6 nights from Monday 30 November for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes. There will be also be some lane closures along the A64 on the westbound carriageway over the next 2 weekends, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November and Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, between 6am and 8pm for resurfacing work.
A64 Brambling Fields to Pickering
The westbound carriageway will also be closed overnight for 5 nights from Monday 30 November for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside
There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road and eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will be closed until August 2016.
