Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – summary for Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 12 June and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane for three nights from Monday 15 June and for one night on Saturday 20 June. The northbound entry slip at junction 31 will be closed overnight for three nights from the Monday 15 June. The northbound exit slip at junction 30 will be closed overnight on the Wednesday 17 June. The southbound side will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for six nights from the Monday 15 June. The northbound side of the motorway will only have two lanes open between junction 30 to junction 31 from 6am to 8pm Saturday 20 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversions.

M1 junction 34 Tinsley to junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. Both sides of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane between junctions 34 and 35a for four nights from Monday 15 June. Drivers will also be diverted off and then back on the motorway on the northbound side at junction 34 overnight on Tuesday 16 June. The northbound entry slips at junction 34 and junction 35 will be closed overnight on the Thursday 18 June. The southbound entry slip at junction 35 and junction 35a will be closed overnight for two nights on Tuesday 16 June. The southbound exit slip at junction 34 will be closed overnight for two nights on the Tuesday 16 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for three nights between junctions 39 and 40 from Friday 19 June. The northbound exit slip will be closed overnight for four nights and junction 40 from Monday 15 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 junction 4 Doncaster to junction 5 Doncaster

The northbound side of the motorway between junctions 4 and 5 will be closed overnight for resurfacing work on the Monday 15 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 15 June. There will also be a 30mph speed limit in place until April 2016 while work takes place to add a third lane to the roundabout.

M62 junction 22 Rishworth Mooor to junction 24 Ainley Top

The eastbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Wednesday 17 June & Thursday 18 June for roadmarkings and studs.

M62 junction 26 Chainbar to junction 28 Tingley

The eastbound side of the motorway between junction 27 to junction 28will be reduced to a single lane overnight on the Thursday 18 June, between 8pm and 6am, for technology works. The eastbound side of the motorway between junction 26 to junction 27 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on the Friday 19 June, between 8pm and 6am, for technology works.

A1 Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar

The northbound side of the motorway from Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar will be closed overnight for two nights for resurfacing work from Saturday 20 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
