Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber: summary for Monday 14 September to Sunday 20 September 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 11 September but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the winter. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Thursday 17 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 32 Thurcroft to Junction 33 Catcliffe

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 14 September and Wednesday 16 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M1 Junction 34 Tinsley to Junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 14 September and Wednesday 16 September. The southbound entry slip road at junction 34 will also be closed overnight on Monday 14 September. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in the winter. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed between junctions 41 and 42 for four nights from Monday 14 September. The northbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed for three nights on Tuesday 15 September. The southbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed overnight on Friday 18 September. The southbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 16 September. The northbound entry slip road at junction 39 and the southbound entry slip road at junction 42 will be closed overnight on Monday 14 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight between junctions 41 and 42 on Tuesday 15 September. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight between junctions 40 and 41 on Thursday 17 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 Junctions 4 3 Doncaster

The southbound side of the motorway between junctions 4 and 3 will be closed overnight for barrier repairs on Wednesday 16 September. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

M18 Junction 3 Doncaster

The southbound exit & entry slip road will be closed overnight for two nights for maintenance work from Monday 14 September. The southbound exit slip road will also be closed overnight for two nights from Wednesday 16 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M180 Junction 3 Midmoor to Junction 4 Broughton

The eastbound side of the motorway will be closed for two nights for resurfacing work from Monday 14 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until a project to add an extra lane to the roundabout at the junction is completed in April 2016. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 14 September for five nights.

M62 Junction 32 Castleford

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight on Monday 14 September. The closure is for lighting work and will be in place between 8pm and 6am. Drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M621 Junction 6 Belle Isle

The anticlockwise entry slip road will be closed for maintenance work on Saturday 19 September. The closure will take place between 5am and 9am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M621 Junction 1 Beeston

The clockwise entry slip road will be closed for maintenance work on Sunday 20 September. The closure will take place between 5am and 10am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

A1M Junction 36 Warmsworth

The northbound entry slip road and southbound exit slip road will be closed for bridge work overnight on Saturday 19 September. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A1M Junction 36 Warmsworth to Junction 37 Blyth

The southbound side of the A road will be closed overnight for four nights from Tuesday 15 September for maintenance work. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A1 Darrington

The northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed for resurfacing work for five nights from Monday 14 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A1 Redhouse

The northbound entry slip road will be closed for tree cutting work for four nights from Monday 14 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

A61 Westwood Roundabout

The A61 will be closed between Westwood and Wentworth Way for roundabout improvement work from Monday 14 September for five nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016 and the eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016. The A160 from Harbrough Roundabout to Eastfield Road will also be closed overnight on Tuesday 15 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

A63 Western Interchange to Brighton Street

The road will be closed overnight for five nights for bridge work from Monday 14 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.
