Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – summary for Monday 13 to Sunday 19 April
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 10 April and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop
The southbound side of the M1 will be closed overnight between the slip roads at junction 31 as part of the smart motorway project, with vehicles having to come off and then back on the motorway. The closures will take place over 5 nights from Monday 13 April, between 8pm and 6am. The southbound entry slip road at junction 31 will also be closed overnight on Saturday 18 April. A diversion will be in place. The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions and there will be narrow lanes and a 50 mph speed limit until the project is completed in autumn 2015.
M1 Junction 32 Doncaster (M18) to Junction 35a Manchester (A616)
The southbound exit slip road and the northbound entry slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Monday 13 April between 8pm and 6am as part of the smart motorway project, with a clearly signed diversion in place. The southbound entry slip road at junction 35a will also be closed overnight on Friday 17 April, with a diversion in place.
M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)
The southbound side of the M1 will be closed between junctions 40 and 39 for two nights from Monday 13 April as part of the smart motorway project. The northbound side of the motorway will also be closed overnight for two nights between the same junctions from Tuesday 14 April, and also overnight on Friday 17 April. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight between junctions 42 and 41 on Wednesday 15 April, and the northbound side will be closed between the same junctions on Thursday 16 April. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and diversions will be in place. The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions and there will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015.
M18 Junction 3 Doncaster
The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for bridge maintenance work for five nights between junctions 4 and 3 from Monday 13 April. The carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am, with a diversion in place.
M18 Junction 6 Thorne to Junction 5 Scunthorpe (M180)
There will be lane closures on the southbound side of the motorway for 4 nights from Tuesday 15 April between 8pm and 6am while work takes place to replace road markings and install reflective road studs.
M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606) to Junction 25 Brighouse
There will be three lanes closed westbound overnight on Monday 13 April between 8pm and 6am for communication works.
M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606) to Junction 27 Leeds (M621)
There will be two lanes closed eastbound overnight on Thursday 16 April between 8pm and 6am for communication works.
M62 Junction 29 (M1 interchange)
The eastbound entry slip road at junction 29 will be closed overnight for communication works on Monday 13 April between 8pm and 6am, with a diversion in place.
M62 Junction 30 Rothwell to Junction 32 Castleford
There will be two lanes closed eastbound for five nights from Monday 13 April for communication upgrade works. The eastbound exit slip road at junction 31 will also be closed for seven nights from Monday 13 April and the westbound entry slip road at junction 32 will be closed overnight on Thursday 16 April. The closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 Junction 35 Doncaster (M18)
The eastbound exit slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on Monday 13 and Friday 17 April for bridge maintenance work. A diversion will be in place.
A1M Junction 36 Doncaster
The northbound exit slip at junction 36 will be closed for two nights between 8pm and 6am from Monday 13 April while work is carried out to replace road markings. A diversion will be in place.
A63 North Ferriby
The westbound entry slip will be closed at North Ferriby for five nights between 8pm and 6am from Monday 13 April for drainage work. A diversion will be in place.
